USTA.com celebrates Black History Month

February is Black History Month, and USTA.com will be celebrating by taking a look at the many achievements and the powerful impact that African Americans have made on our great sport of tennis.

This month, we will honor some of the players who have been most influential in shaping and developing tennis, including Althea Gibson and Arthur Ashe. We'll discuss the accomplishments of some of today's most dominant players, like Venus Williams, Serena Williams and James Blake, and we'll look at a number of the rising young stars in tennis, such as Donald Young, Sloane Stephens, Taylor Townsend and Gabrielle Andrews.

Without these athletes’ contributions to the game of tennis, our sport certainly wouldn't be where it is today.
