2010 USTA Pro Circuit Chief Umpires List

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR 2010 CHIEF UMPIRES (REVISED 10-14-09)


The USTA Officials Department would like to update you on the newly implemented procedures for applying to be a chief umpire at USTA Pro Circuit events in 2010:

The Procedure to make oneself available is as follows:

All individuals seeking to apply for the position of Chief Umpire at any 2010 USTA Pro Circuit Event must submit their request along with a resume via email to procircuitchief@usta.com by the listed cut-off date and include the name, start date, and prize money level of the event(s) you are applying for.

All applicants that submit a timely request, meet the minimum Chief Umpire requirements, and are in good standing will be forwarded to the Tournament Director following the cut-off date in order of submission . If the event changes dates, locations, or tournament director, after the listed cut-off date, all applicants will be notified and asked to re-submit their application.

PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTORS UNLESS THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTORS HAVE FIRST CONTACTED YOU.

Chief Umpires for USTA Pro Circuit Events are selected and hired by the Tournament .

Should you have any questions or concerns about the newly implemented program, please do not hesitate to call the USTA Officials Department.

Beginning in 2009 at all USTA Pro Circuit tournaments, the chief umpire will be selected by the tournament director and approved by the supervisor. In the event that the tournament director does not have anyone in mind, the supervisor will suggest at least two, preferable three, names of individuals who would be approved. From there, the selection is made by the tournament director.
