Best Practice: Promoting the USTA MasterCard at a USA Tennis Event

Best Practice: Promoting the USTA MasterCard at a USA Tennis Event

Definition And Example:
At a USA Tennis event, very often gifts are given out. Require the tournament player to receive his gift from one person who is assigned to promote the USTA MasterCard. When the player receives the tournament gift, he is then offered an opportunity to receive another gift by assisting the section with their fundraiser, i.e., signing up for a USTA MasterCard. Have a great premium on hand to tempt the player.

Significance:
There is great significance in this one on one approach because many times players just pass up the USTA MasterCard promotion desk and don’t even realize what an important fundraiser is taking place.

Benefits:
Major USTA MasterCard revenues can be available to the section.

Procedure:
See definition and example.

People Involved:
Tournament Desk people to sent players to desk for player gift. One skilled USTA MasterCard promotion person.

Timing:
Determined by check-in procedures for the tournament.

Cost:
Cost of premiums

Other Considerations:
Need one full time person devoted to this staffing of the gift desk for it to work. Person has to be knowledgeable of benefits and procedures for signing up USTA MasterCard applications.
