Develop innovative tournament play formats to increase both participation (number of players) and frequency of play in Adult Age Group and NTRP Tournaments. Provide meaningful play opportunities that are aligned with our customer’s needs and requirements. Examine One Day Events (Play Days) and other non-traditional formats that could be used at the state/district, section and national level. Decrease the cost, travel and time required for players to get good competition.
Assist as requested in testing and developing red, orange/green ball formats for seniors.
Insure our Senior competitors represent the US in international competition and reinforce our commitment to International Team Events. Create a new ‘need based’ formula for funding players who compete internationally to work within the allotted resources.
Note: International team selections will be recommended by the Senior International sub-committee that includes at least one USTA staff member and will be discussed with the Adult Competition Committee for finalization. In the event of appeals, the Adult Competition Committee will name a three-member panel as a Selection Review Committee. If there is an additional appeal, it would go to the USTA Grievance Committee.
