USTA/ITF Junior Tournament Information

 

 ITF Tournament Information for USTA Junior Player

In order to compete in International Tennis Federation (ITF) Junior Circuit events, players must meet the following requirements:
 

  • Have an IPIN and have registered for the tournament(s) in which they would like to compete through their IPIN account:  www.itftennis.com/ipin
  • Are born between January 1, 1994 and December 31, 1999 for 2012 events.  Players must have reached their thirteenth (13) birthday prior to the start of the event(s).
  • Are USTA members in good standing with the USTA and its Sections
  • Are eligible to play under the ITF Code of Conduct
  • All players are expected to uphold the highest level of sportsmanship on and off the court.  All players are subject to the ITF and USTA Code of Conduct.
  • Prior to participation in first ITF tournament the player must submit a copy of his/her US Passport to the USTA Player Services Office.

Misc Info:

  • Entries for all ITF Jr Tournaments (Grade 1-5) will close at 1400 GMT 27 days prior to Monday of the tournament week.
  • Entries for all Grade A events will close at 1400 GMT either 34 or 41 days prior to Monday of the tournament week.
  • The withdrawal deadline for all ITF Jr tournaments will be 1400 GMT 13 days prior to the Monday of the tournament week.
  • Players will be able to withdraw without penalty until that time.
  • The Freeze deadline for all ITF Junior Circuit tournaments will be 1400 GMT on Wednesday, Five days prior to the Monday of the tournament week. From that time players who are on the qualifying list will no longer move into the main draw and players who are alternates will no longer move into qualifying. Vacancies will be filled onsite by signed in alternates (qualifying) and lucky losers (for main draw).
  • Under this system the players have all of the responsibility for entering and withdrawing from events. Players must be much more aware of deadlines in order to avoid penalties.

Requirements:      Wild Card requests only for events held in the United States
Misc Info:              Players must submit wild card applications through the link above.  Faxed or e-mailed requests will not be accepted.

  •   Deadline:  The deadline is 5 days after the Tournament entry deadline for the event.
     
 
ITF 16 & Under Feed-Up Entry System 
 
The top two (2) nationally ranked players in the USTA Boys and Girls 16's year-end national rankings  (who are 1st years or younger in that age division) will receive special entry into two (2) ITF events held within the United States.  The top two players selected will be selected based on ITF age eligibility as opposed to USTA age eligibility.  Second and third year players will not be selected.  The #1 ranked American player will be guaranteed main draw acceptance into 2 ITF Level 1 events or lower in the United States.  The #2 ranked American player will be guaranteed main draw acceptance into 1 ITF Level 1 event or lower and 1 ITF Level 2 event or lower in the United States.  The players who earn this opportunity must use the form provided to them and submit it to the ITF 6 weeks prior to the tournament.
