Starting in 2010, the International Tennis Federation (ITF) began requiring that players use the ITF online entry system for entries to all ITF Junior Circuit events. Players must obtainan ITF IPIN in order to enter any ITF Junior Circuit event. Online entries are available at
www.itftennis.com/juniors.
As a part of the online entry process, the ITF has also assumed the responsibility for player selection at ITF Junior Circuit events. The Criteria for Acceptance into an ITF Junior Circuit event is listed in Rule 40 of the 2012 ITF Junior Circuit Regulations (an electronic copy of the 2012 ITF Junior Circuit Regulations is available at http://www.itftennis.com/juniors/circuitinfo/regulations.asp. As required by Regulation40, the USTA created a ranking list to be used for acceptances in ITF Junior Circuit events only. The list is only used at ITF Junior Circuit events in the United States and only after the list of players with current ITF Junior Rankings, ATP Tour Rankings or WTA Tour Rankings has been exhausted. The ITF has limited this USA ranking list to 200 boys and 200 girls.
The Top 200 Ranking List will be calculated four (4) times per year. The dates for 2012 are January 4, 2012, March 21, 2012, July 25, 2012, and September 19, 2012. Another calculation will be made on January 2, 2013 to be used for ITF Junior Circuit events in the first part of the 2013. The list is compiled using the combined ranking points earned in the previous 52 weeks from the following events:
• USTA National Championships
• USTA National Opens
• ITF events played in the USA
Combined ranking points earned in the 18 and under divisions of the above events are calculated at 100% of their total value. Combined ranking points earned in the 16 and under divisions of the above events are calculated at 80% of their total value. Combined ranking points earned in the 14 and under divisions of the above events are calculated at 60% of their total value. Players may have earned points in more than one age division and the higher point total is always used for this Top 200 Ranking List. Only players who are age eligible for ITF tournaments will be included on the list. Players who have already earned ITF ranking points will be taken off the list as they will be accepted into ITF Junior Circuit events based on their ITF ranking.
