USTA PD, Operation Christmas Child Team Up
On November 14, student-athletes at the USTA Training Center Headquarters in Boca Raton, FL and USTA Player Development staff will be collecting toys, toiletries and school supplies to fill shoeboxes which will be sent to orphans across the world. Operation Christmas Child is a program through Samaritans Purse, that has provided shoebox gifts to more than 94 million children in more than 130 countries around the world.
This is the third year USTAPD has participated in the program.
In addition, USTAPD donates used tennis balls and empty ball containers during the year to Samaritans Purse/Operation Christmas Child. Tennis balls and plastic containers are washed and placed into hundreds of shoeboxes each year. The balls are used for play and the cans have so many uses, for drinking, eating, storing items, etc.
