Mission Statement

The mission of USTA Player Development is to develop world-class American players through a clearly defined training structure and competitive pathway as well as through the implementation of a comprehensive coaching philosophy and structure.

Player Identification and Development

The Player Identification and Development Department works at the base of the Player Development Pathway structure to ensure the identification and development of our country’s best young players. The goal is to provide an intersection of opportunity and commitment for as many athletes as possible.

Player Services

The Player Services Department works with junior and professional players in order to assist with handling all of the wild card requests, player grant requests and disbursements, ITF entries for junior players traveling to international events, as well as providing players, parents and coaches with assistance in understanding the various rules associated with ITF Junior and Pro events, ATP and WTA events.

Sport Science

Sport Science encompasses a number of different disciplines including strength and conditioning, sport medicine, biomechanics, motor learning, sport psychology, nutrition and exercise physiology. All of the sport sciences play a large part in the development of a successful tennis player.
