The mission of the USTA Player Development Program is to develop world-class American players through a clearly defined training structure and competitive pathway as well as through the implementation of a comprehensive coaching philosophy and structure. The USTA Training Centers are one piece of the puzzle to accomplish this mission. The USTA Training Centers are the premier training opportunities in the United States. These centers staff some of the best tennis and strength coaches in the world. The training and tennis facilities are some of the best facilities in this country. The goal of these centers is to provide high quality coaching to aspiring young players who wish to develop their games to the highest level.
Currently, the USTA Training Centers are:
USTA Training Center-Headquarters in Boca Raton, FL
USTA Training Center-West in Carson, CA
USTA Training Center-East in Flushing Meadow, NY (July 2009)
In addition to the USTA Training Centers, the USTA has implemented USTA Certified Regional Training Centers. These centers are located throughout the United States at facilities which provide excellent coaching and training opportunities. These centers are located in population areas where a large number of strong junior players are being developed.
In addition to continuing their already existing programs, the USTA Certified Regional Training Centers will now also host USTA training camps for players in their region ages 8-16. These players will be selected in conjunction with the USTA national coaching staff and their respective USTA Section Coaches Commission. The Centers also will help identify talent in players as young as 6-years-old, run QuickStart tennis programs and host QuickStart tournaments for players 8-and-under and 10-and-under.
Currently, the USTA Certified Regional Training Centers are:
The Junior Tennis Champions Center in College Park, Maryland
Racquet Club of the South in Atlanta, Georgia
The Austin Tennis Academy, Austin, Texas
