Congratulations to all our of distinguished award recipients who were honored at the 2012 USTA Annual Meeting on March 19 in Carlsbad, Calif. The USTA Annual Meeting and Conference brings together USTA leadership, national staff, national committee members and section volunteers and staff in pursuit of the USTA mission: To promote and develop the growth of tennis.

Award Recipients

2011 NJTL Founders' Service Award: David Dinkins

Congratulations to the Hon. David Dinkins on winning the 2011 NJTL Founders' Service Award. The award recognizes an individual NJTL chapter founder who is committed to positive youth development through low-cost tennis, education and life skills programming to thousands of underserved children each year.

2011 Ralph Westcott USTA Family of the Year: The Heuther Family

The USTA has presented the Huether family of Sioux Falls, S.D. with the Ralph W. Westcott USTA Family of the Year Award. The award, created by the USTA in 1965, emphasizes the theme that "tennis is a family game" and is given annually to a family that volunteers its time to promote amateur tennis.

2011 Seniors' Service Award: Alice Lee

The USTA Seniors’ Service Award was established in 1958 to recognize and honor a person for service to senior tennis. Congratulations to Alice Lee of Capitol Heights, Md. on winning the 2011 award.

2011 Brad Parks Award: Dean Oba

In a joint effort to highlight the world of wheelchair tennis and recognizing the finest figures in community tennis, we honor Dean Oba of Salt Lake City, Utah with the 2011 Brad Parks Award for outstanding service to grow the game.

2011 Organization Member of the Year: Fred Wells Tennis & Education Center

The USTA has presented the Fred Wells Tennis and Education Center of St. Paul, Minn., with its 2011 Organization Member of the Year Award. The award is given annually to an organization that provides outstanding service to its members and the local community.

2011 Barbara Williams Leadership Award: Sue Gregor

The Barbara Williams Leadership Award recognizes a female volunteer who, through her leadership and by her example, has encouraged and inspired others to become volunteers and assume leadership roles at the community, section and/or national levels of the USTA. Congratulations to Sue Gregor of Wayzata, Minn., our 2011 winner.
