USTA Serves awards more than $1.5 million in grants in 2011

USTA Serves, the National Charitable Foundation of the United States Tennis Association, has granted 41 community tennis and education organizations in the U.S. more than $400,000 in grants. Combined with scholarship awards, USTA Serves distributed more than $1.5 million in 2011.

USTA Serves 11th Annual Opening Night Gala

USTA Serves celebrated the 2011 US Open with its 11th annual Opening Night Gala, honoring the legendary Tony Bennett and ABC Good Morning America broadcaster Robin Roberts.  We had the winning combination: Tony, Robin, NYC Mayors Bloomberg and Dinkins, US Senator Gillibrand, Billie Jean King, Mary Carillo, Martina Navratilova, Jim Courier and 180 special friends and supporters who helped us raise $500,000, including celebrity auctioneer Alec Baldwin who raised $62,000 in just 12 minutes!  All of this will enable us to reach 220,000 at-risk youth and people with disabilities through the powerful combination of tennis and education.  Read the full press release here and visit our online gallery to see photos of this year's Gala!

USTA Serves 2011 Pro Am at the US Open

Have you ever dreamed of playing tennis at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center during the US Open with some of the best former players in the world?  Well, 12 lucky amateurs did just that at this year's USTA Serves Pro-Am.  Tracy Austin, Pat Cash, Peter Fleming, Gigi Fernandez, Iva Majoli, Todd Martin, Chanda Rubin, Andrea Temesvari, Mal Washington, Mats Wilander, Mark Woodforde and Natasha Zvereva participated in the 9th Annual USTA Serves Pro Am on Friday, September 9th.  Check out all the amazing pictures in our Pro Am Galleries!
