Do you have an eye for detail, a love of tennis, and an interest in preserving the history of the USTA? We need you!
The USTA is looking for volunteers in the White Plains, New York, headquarters to help preserve the Association archival records.
Responsibilities will include:
| Assist with basic preservation techniques such as flattening, refoldering, sleeving, cleaning and removing metal fasteners from historic paper records
| | > | Identify persons, places and events in archival photographs, films and videotapes and assist in the cataloging of audio-visual records
| | > | Assist the USTA Archivists with sorting, arranging and rehousing photographs, films and videotapes and preparing the material for future preservation actions
| | Identify documents and photographs for use in exhibits and other projects | | Respond to reference requests from USTA staff, volunteers and the public | |
Length of commitment and hours are flexible, depending on availability. Training in preservation and other archival techniques will be provided by the USTA Archivist.
