About Self Rating

Overview of NTRP Self Rating

Who knows your game better than you?  You’ve got all the shots, now you just need to let us know by rating yourself on the TennisLink, the USTA’s online league management software.  The process is simple and helps ensure you can compete on a level playing field.

If you are new to the league or haven’t played in three years (or players over 60 years of age who haven’t played in two years) you can and should self rate.  Yep, everyone - whether you’re a beginner or have been playing all your life.  Your rating is based on the National Tennis Rating Program (NTRP) scale.  Click here to access your ability based on the play characteristics provided at each level.

Once you have a general idea of your level of play and have found a team, you should go into TennisLink to complete the self rating process. This process consists of a series of questions which when answered completely you will be able to choose from a range of ratings.  Your rating will then be applied instantly.  It’s that easy.

Once you have a rating you are able to enjoy all the benefits of USTA League.  So what are you waiting for, let’s get you connected with a team in your area!
