The sport of tennis is growing daily in the United States. More than 28 million players grabbed a racquet and hit the courts nationwide in 2012 – and why not? No other sport offers the bounty of benefits that go hand-in-hand with an involvement in tennis. It’s a sport that can be enjoyed by every age and any ability, opening doors to a wide world of opportunity, fitness and fun.

When you find yourself in the game, you find yourself in a happier, healthier place.

Why Play

Tennis is a lifetime sport that can increase physical fitness and health. What’s more, tennis is a highly social sport. Players not only revel in the competition but also the camaraderie that comes with participation in the sport. You can play individually or as part of a team. It’s a sport that offers something for everyone, regardless of age, background or ability.

Where to Play

Tennis can be played anywhere, from local parks to clubs to schools and recreational facilities. Here are some options:

Parks and Recreation: For starters, have a look at your local park directory and check to see their hours of operation. Most likely, lessons and programs are offered close by.

• Clubs and Facilities: An organized tennis club (or sports facility with tennis courts) often offers well-maintained courts with varied surfaces, whether indoor or outdoor. To find a court or facility near you, enter your zip code or city and state and we can help you find one or several locations in your area.

Community Tennis Associations: Growing hotbeds for organized tennis, CTAs are designed to coordinate and maintain tennis programs and services, guaranteeing that they are open and accessible to all who wish to play. If you’re having a hard time finding people to either team with in doubles or play against, CTA involvement could be of tremendous benefit.
