We asked, you answered. Turns out tennis players are dreaming about more than just sugar plums and tennis balls this holiday season! You want everything from mental tips from famous teachers to the shots of your favorite tennis stars to US Open tickets.
Here are some of the things you're wishing for this year...
From Sarah H.:
Dr. Loehr or W Timothy Gallwey for some one-on-one mental tennis tips. And for my husband, a session with Oscar Wegner. Thanks. And if I can't get those master teachers, then how about a cute outfit in XL with matching sneakers in size 12 (women's)?
From Jake M.:
I'd like to have a serve like Pete Sampras, a forehand like Roger Federer and a backhand like Marat Safin!
From Coach Poppie, Palm Bay, FL:
To make no resolution I know, cannot be kept. Continue keeping first things first. To listen, when a fix is not expected or required, and watch empathy do it all.
From Jennifer K.:
I would just love to see my tennis idols Pete Sampras and Roger Federer play in one of their exhibitions.
From Nancy C.:
I wish to attend at least one live match during the US Open. I've seen them on TV but would love to experience being there personally during a live match to absorb all the excitement.
Since I'm new to tennis, I really don't know how to go about purchasing tickets, especially this far in advance, and do not know anything about the seating arrangement since I've never been inside the stadium. So any tips and information to the correct location on how I can purchase tickets to the 2008 US Open here in NY would be a great treat.
My favorite player is Roger Federer. He is amazing. So are the others, but he's my favorite.
Thank you in advance for any information leading me to the right source.
(Editor’s note: Continue checking www.USTA.com and www.USOpen.org over the coming months for US Open information.)
From Carl C.:
To improve my overall tennis game, try to relax and keep everything in front of me and improve hand-eye coordination.
From Justin, Chester Springs, PA:
The No. 1 tennis thing on my holiday wish list is more time to play tennis! I have a baby on the way, and I realize that it’s going to be tough to find time.
My New Year's resolution is to introduce more of my friends to tennis. I have quite a few friends who don't play, and I'd like to get them into the game.
