1. How can my CTA receive insurance?

The USTA offers two low-cost insurance programs for eligible CTA’s and NJTL’s. We offer a Master Liability Insurance program with up to $2 million in commercial general liability. The second program is a Directors and Officers insurance offering coverage up to $1 million in liability for an enrolled organization’s Directors and Officers. Qualified CTA’s with organization budgets under $25,000 contribute $165/year. Qualified CTA’s with organization budgets over $25,000 contribute $465/year.

In order for your organization to qualify to participate in either insurance program your CTA must meet the following requirements:

· Your CTA is registered and currently in an approved status in the USTA CTA database. To register, please visit http://cta.usta.com

· Your organization is an active member of the USTA. To join today and run sanctioned events and receive discounts to special workshops, simply go to www.usta.com/orgmember or call USTA Membership at 1-800-990-8782.

· Your CTA or NJTL is incorporated as a non-profit organization in your respective state. To incorporate your CTA or NJTL, contact your Secretary of State’s Office.

For more information or questions regarding the Master Liability and Accident Insurance Program or Directors and Officers Insurance Program for Community Tennis Associations call 1-888-654-USTA or visit www.usta.com/cta .

2. My CTA is registered and approved in the USTA CTA database. Do I have to be a USTA Organization Member as well?

No, it is recommended that your organization join the USTA but not required. Joining the USTA as an organization member allows your organization to receive members-only benefits that can help you get connected to the USTA and tennis. Some of the great benefits your CTA could receive upon registering for USTA membership:

Travel Discounts

Your organization’s staff and pros can take advantage of specially priced tennis travel packages. Destinations include the four Grand Slams, Davis Cup and Fed Cup events.

High Performance Coaching

Your organization will automatically receive the High Performance Coaching e-newsletter. This e-newsletter provides you with the latest coaching and sports science information, as well as information about advancements in coaching and certification programs.

USTA Tournaments

USTA Organization Members may conduct tournaments that are officially sanctioned by the USTA. In addition, Organization Members can use the USTA name and logo to promote these events (subject to USTA requirements and approval).

Top Tennis Publications

USTA Organization Members also receive annual subscriptions to both TENNIS and USTA Magazine featuring instructional tips, articles on the top pros, information about the USTA and more.

US Open Poster

Receive an attractive certificate with your organization’s name to show you’re a proud USTA member.

Special Ticket Offers

Enjoy preferred ticket access to pro tournaments throughout the country (including the US Open), participate in Member Appreciation Days and much more! Visit USTA.com for more details and a complete list of events.

3. How can I create a website for my CTA?

I would recommend each CTA have a website or some form of web presence to communicate with the community you serve. If you are interested in starting a website for your CTA, the USTA offers registered CTA’s several methods of assistance to develop a website.

The USTA offers an online website publishing tool to registered Community Tennis Associations. This allows CTA’s to establish an independent website that would be part of the USTA's national effort, the USTA.com Network. In order to be considered for this benefit, your group must be a registered and approved CTA with the USTA. To learn more visit www.usta.com/cta and click on “Benefits” and then “Website Assistance.” Please complete the short application and click the submit button at the bottom of the page. Please be aware that filling out this form does not guarantee joining the USTA.com Network. You will be contacted by the USTA within 10 business days of your request.

David Slade serves as National Manager, Community Tennis Associations at the National Office in White Plains, NY. If you or your CTA has a question, feel free to email: cta@usta.com.
