The 20th year of the Cajun Classic Wheelchair Tennis Tournament presented by PAR Medical, an ITF 2 series event, drew 72 tennis players to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, from around the world. With beautiful weather and great food, the tournament did not disappoint with enthralling tennis played in every division.

Tenth world ranked Nicholas Peifer (FRA) took the Cajun Classic by storm winning both the men’s open main draw singles and the men’s open main draw doubles with the assistance of compatriot Frederic Cattaneo. First time Cajun Classic participant, number 6 Aniek Van Koot of the Netherlands also fascinated spectators of the Cajun Classic, taking both the Women’s open main draw title and the women’s open main draw doubles title along with second seed, Lucy Shuker of Great Britain. Another impressive feat was that of David Wagner as he won his seventh consecutive quad open singles Cajun Classic title along with the quad doubles open title with fellow American Bryan Barten.

All in all, this year’s tournament was a success thanks to all of the hard working volunteers, wonderful sponsors, especially our title sponsor, Par Medical, and most importantly world renowned tennis. We look forward to another successful year in 2010!
