Real Tennis Players - Like You! - Asking For and Offering Advice on the Sport They Love
Player to Player is USTA.com’s regular feature in which everyday tennis players are given a forum to ask advice on the sport they love – and their fellow players will dish out advice. We’ll post a number of the best responses we receive to our question of the week.

Last week's question from Naomi
(Please note: There is no need to send additional responses to this question.)
What is the best time to eat before a big match, and what are some good things for me to eat?
Player Responses:
Kellie, Hudson, N.H.
I've been told I'm unusual -- OK, weird -- but I eat within an hour of the match, and I eat protein, like eggs, steak or peanut butter. Protein sustains me much better through a match than carbs or sugar. Most people I know can't eat that 'close' to match time, or they feel heavy and slow.
