This book can be purchased through Human Kinetics.

Step 2: Register and Take the Exam

In order to access the exam you must register with the USTA Learning Resource Center. If you are new to the site, be sure to complete the registration and identify yourself as a tennis provider. Be sure to write down your username and password as you will need it to access the testing system each time.

Once you register and log in, look on the left side of the page for the heading named Learning Centers and just below that heading there is a link named Community Tennis Provider to click for access to the test link. On the page that opens up there will be a section called Player Development Coaches that will take you to the test.

When you click on the link to take the exam, you will be prompted to pay for the exam with a credit card through a secure interface. The cost for the exam is $35.00 for up to three attempts to pass.  As an added safety precaution, your credit card information will be deleted from the registration database once your card has been charged. Once you pay for the exam, you will have one year to and three attempts to receive a passing grade of 70%. If you are not able to pass the exam in the first 3 attempts, you can purchase 3 additional attempts at at time until you are successful. As soon as you complete the exam, you will be given your grade as well as feedback showing the questions you answered incorrectly and your response with a reference to the chapter where you can find the material. Upon passing the exam you will receive an email from the USTA with a letter and certificate recognizing your efforts within approximately two weeks.

Please note: The exam is 100 questions that are randomly generated from a pool of 127 questions each time. The order and content of the questions will be different each time you take the exam.

Questions about the registration process or taking the exam should be directed to ustalrc@usta.com.
