When Liz Morin of North Andover, Mass., earned a trip to the 2008 USTA League Presented by Chrysler 2.5 Adult National Championships from Oct 3-5 in Las Vegas, her husband Bill felt it was fate the couple would be in Las Vegas just days after celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary.
Bill proposed the couple use the opportunity to renew their wedding vows in the marriage capital of America – just like Liz’s teammate Jacki Santini and her husband John had done earlier this year in Key West.
So just hours after Liz, Jackie and the New England ladies compete on Friday at the Amanda & Stacey Darling Tennis Center, the Morins, accompanied by a few of Liz’s teammates, will visit the famed Graceland Chapel and renew the vows they first exchanged 20 years ago.
“It’s perfect that we are in Las Vegas,” admits Bill. “We celebrated our first anniversary in the Poconos, and now our 20th in Las Vegas. Both cities have a lot of neon and velvet. You can’t get any more kitschy than that.”
