INDIAN WELLS, CALIF. – After three days of exceptional play at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, the USTA Southern men’s and women’s teams swept the 2008 USTA League presented by Chrysler 3.5 Senior National Championships.
In the women’s final, the USTA Southern team from Nashville defeated the USTA Mid-Atlantic team from Roanoke, Va., 3-0, to take the title.
The tightly-contested men’s final saw the USTA Southern team from Roswell, Ga., slip past the USTA Middle States team from Philadelphia, 2-1.
The USTA Northern California women’s team from Santa Rosa, Calif. captured third place as they defeated the USTA Eastern women’s team from Lynbrook, N.Y., 2-1.
The USTA Mid-Atlantic men’s team from Silver Spring, Md., swept the USTA Intermountain men’s team from Las Vegas, 3-0, to finish in third place.
