The Americans did well in the international team competitions in Perth, winning 3 of the 10 Cups, finishing 2nd in 3 of the 10 Cups and third in 3 more. The 10th team finished 4th.

U.S. Teams Win Seven of 11 International Team Championships at World Senior Tennis Championships in Antalya, Turkey
The USTA's Senior International Tennis Teams won seven of 11 events in the International Team Championships portion of the World Senior Tennis Championships, the world’s largest international tennis tournament, in Antalya, Turkey, October 20-25. The U.S. teams won the Austria Cup (men’s 55), Jack Crawford Cup (men’s 70), Bitsy Grant Cup (men’s 75), Gardnar Mulloy Cup (men’s 80), Maureen Connolly Cup (women’s 55), Althea Gibson Cup (women’s 70) and Queen’s Cup (women’s 75). In 2004, the event will take place in Philadelphia, Sept. 13-26.
The 23rd ITF World Championships in Turkey: Americans Win 10 Titles
Americans were very successful in Turkey at the 23rd World Vets Championships. Elaine Mason took home singles and doubles titles in the 75 women's division, the only American to win multiple titles this year.

There were 11 teams representing the USA in Austria in September, 2002. There were men's and women's 55, 60, 65, 70 and 75 teams and a men's 80 team. There were 8 teams representing the USA in Florida in April, 2002, consisting of 4 men's and 4 women's teams age 35, 40, 45 and 50.
