Surprise, Ariz. – On a beautiful sun-splashed day in the desert, four teams won titles at 2008 USTA League 6.0 & 8.0 Super Senior National Championships at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex.
In the Men's 6.0 Division, the USTA Caribbean Section came through a tough draw and defeated the USTA Florida Section 2-1 in the semifinals. In the finals, the men from Puerto Rico scored a narrow 2-1 decision over the USTA Middle States Section to capture the title.
The Women's 6.0 Division saw some incredible tennis played as a strong team representing the USTA Pacific Northwest Section defeated the USTA Mid-Atlantic Section 2-1 in the semifinals. In the finals, Pacific Northwest proved too much for the USTA New England Section as they wrapped up the Championship with a 3-0 victory.
Highly-competitive matches highlighted the Men's 8.0 Division as the USTA Florida Section edged the USTA Texas Section 2-1 in the semifinals. In an exciting final, the Florida team from Bradenton defeated the USTA Midwest Section 2-1.
In the Women's 8.0 Division, the USTA Southern California Section team from Lake Forest took on the USTA Pacific Northwest Section in a semifinal featuring two West Coast teams. Southern California advanced with a 2-1 victory. In the finals, Southern California nipped the USTA Mid-Atlantic Section 2-1 for the Championship.
