Surprise, Ariz. - The 7.0 Super Senior Men’s Team from Omaha, Nebraska is hoping that the first time is a charm at the USTA League presented by Chrysler 7.0 Super Senior National Championships. Team Captain Cheron Beran has been playing USTA Leagues for the past fifteen years but has never advanced to past the Section Championships…but there is always a first and this year everything fell into place.
“We really got here by a fluke,” replied Beran whose team got here after weather played into the final results at the Section Championships. “We’ll take it!”
Only one of the twelve players here has experienced the National Championships before so everyone is enjoying every minute.
“It’s great meeting so many tennis enthusiasts and seeing players that we have gone up against over the years from around the U.S., it’s really a great event.,” stated Bernan. “The Surprise Tennis and Racquet Complex is really fantastic. It’s a state of the art tennis facility and it’s a real privilege to be playing here.”
The team lost their first match of the day but is not about to let that get them down as they look to bring a National Championship banner back to Omaha.
