Surprise, Ariz. - Concluding the 7.0/9.0 USTA Super Senior National Championships, teams from Birmingham, Ala., Tucson, Ariz. and Little Rock, Ark. won their respective bracket for the USTA League title.
On the 7.0 men’s side, the Southern team topped the Northern California team from Lincoln Hills, Calif., by the score of 2-1. The Southern team, based out of Birmingham, Ala., beat Mid Atlantic in the semifinals to advance to the championship.
For the 7.0 women’s bracket, the Southwest team from the Tucson Racquet Club beat the Eastern women from Goshen, New York by the score of 3-0 for the women’s championship. The Southwest women advanced to the final round after topping the Texas representative in the semifinals while the Eastern women beat Mid Atlantic.
Rounding out Sunday’s championships, the 9.0 Southern men’s team, from Little Rock, Ark. beat the Southern California men from Torrance, Calif., with a score of 2-1. The Southern California team advanced to the finals after taking care of the Southwest team from Phoenix, Ariz. The Southern men beat the Eastern team from Syosset, New York to earn a spot into the finals.
