Last spring, early summer we ran a twice a week wheelchair program. We attracted a few players from Illinois and Northern Indiana. All had played a little before but were glad to meet each other and receive instruction and play time. We are looking to start our program up again in November and try and reach out to more youth and adults who have never had an opportunity to try tennis before. Spearheading this attempt will be Adrian Dieleman from Lansing. Illinois. Adrian is an ITF ranked Quad player from Canada. The highlights of our program included Hope Llewellyn’s participation and her display of medals from Beijing, Atlanta and Athens Paralympic games plus a Wheelchair clinic given during our ten-day tennis festival called Tennis fest which was held in June.
