Hey everyone!

I'm writing to you at 4:36am Pacific Time in Long Beach, CA. IM HOOOOMEEEEEEE!!!!!! Actually, I've been home since last night but got up at 11am, then crashed at 6pm LOL. I slept until 12.30am, and now I'm up again. This is really bad for my body clock's adjustment... oh well.

Although I am on antibiotics, I think that I am over my illness for the most part. Did I mention I had an infection in my ear? My cousin (I have three cousins who are doctors and two uncles who are doctors, as well) told me (after checkup) that it was probably related to my stress and immune system being down, especially after all my travel. My mom told me she thought it was because of my pierced ears. This is an ongoing "discussion" about my pierced ears. In Asian culture, I think they don't really like it when you pierce your ears, especially if you have full lobes, like I do. My mom used to always tell me that Chinese people love thick earlobes, and mine are really nice ones. So she's kind of been looking for reasons for me to take my earrings off and let the holes close, but no! I've suffered this long already. OK, it wasn't really suffering.

By the way, when I was at my grandparent's village, we went to the city hall to see my grandpa accept an award from the city -- Oldest Man in the Village. He received a plaque, flowers, presents and "hong-bao," a red envelope with money. He's 91, and he went there on his motorcycle by himself. He still goes to the farm every day... my grandparents are really healthy for their age! My grandma is also 91, but she didn't win. There was a lady 103 years old, and she was walking all by herself!

In the few hours I was up, I went, of course, to Costco, then to Target to replenish my bathroom stocks. I guess one good thing about being in Asia for five weeks was that I couldn't use my phone at all. I have a Blackberry, and I was seriously going through withdrawal symptoms. The first three days I would take out my phone and try to open the Internet browser, which, of course, didn't work. I would try to connect to all the roaming network providers, none of which worked. So by now, I actually can leave my phone for a few hours and not think about it constantly! Pretty proud of myself there.

I bought a couple new books -- "The Memory Keeper's Daughter," by Kim Edwards, which I thought was pretty good. It seemed a little bit too dramatic, though. "The Undomestic Goddess" by Sophie Kinsella, who wrote the "Confessions of a Shopaholic" series. Actually, I got really annoyed reading the Shopaholic books. I only got through one and a half, I believe, because I couldn't believe how stupid that chick was! She had no discipline whatsoever, and then somehow, everything turned out fine, and she got the guy and got the great job and everything worked out?? Not real life!!! I'm a big believer in justice served, even in books... haha! The third book I was pleasantly surprised on how much I enjoyed -- "His Majesty's Dragon," by Naomi Novik. It puts a new twist on dragon tales... the English and French use dragons in aerial combat in their war.

By the way, if you guys are on Facebook, become my fan ;) A girl can always have more fans, right?

OK, cheers, guys. I'm going to see if I can sleep again!
