Once again for the U.S. Davis Cup team, it’s home sweet home.

The U.S. squad will be on home soil for the fourth consecutive tie, as it was drawn to host the Slovak Republic in a World Group Play-off, Sept. 12-14. The site of the tie has not yet been determined.

The winner of the U.S.-Slovak Republic faceoff advances to the World Group and will have a chance to compete for the 2015 Davis Cup title, while the loser will be relegated to its respective Zone Group I competition.

The U.S. lost 3-1 to Great Britain in a first-round tie in February in San Diego, dropping it into the Play-off. The Slovak Republic defeated Austria in a Europe/Africa Group I quarterfinal to advance.

The U.S., seeded No. 5 for the Play-offs, holds a 2-0 record over the Slovak Republic in Davis Cup. The U.S. last faced the Slovak Republic in the 2003 World Group Play-off in Bratislava, where the Americans won, 3-2, behind a team led by Andy Roddick, who won the US Open singles title the week before the match. Mardy Fish, Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan filled out the squad.

The U.S. also played the Slovak Republic in the 2002 World Group First Round in Oklahoma City, with the U.S. winning the tie, 5-0.

Players will be named for the competition no later than 10 days prior to the start of competition. Americans who have competed in recent ties include the Bryans, John Isner, Sam Querrey and Donald Young. Top 100 players Lukas Lacko and Martin Klizan, as well as Top 200 player Norbert Gombos and doubles specialist Michal Mertinak, have paced the Slovak squad.
