The U.S. Fed Cup team was drawn to host Sweden in the World Group Play-offs April 20-21 as it looks to maintain its position in the prestigious World Group for 2014.
The location of the tie in the U.S. will determined at a later date. Players for each team will be announced no later than 10 days before the start of competition.
The U.S. was forced into a World Group Play-off after losing a tough battle with Italy, 3-2, in the World Group First Round Feb. 9-10 in Rimini, Italy.
Sweden gained an opportunity to compete for a spot in the World Group after coming back from a 0-2 deficit against Argentina to win their World Group II First Round tie 3-2.
Other World Group Play-off ties being held that weekend are Germany hosting Serbia, Australia hosting Switzerland and Spain hosting Japan. The winners from the World Group Play-offs compete in the 2014 World Group while the losers will compete in World Group II.
