With approximately 90 tournaments hosted annually throughout the U.S., the USTA Pro Circuit offers top players tour-level competition, the opportunity to gain valuable pro ranking points and countless chances to introduce tennis to kids from the local communities.
In conjunction with the $25,000 women's event in Pelham, Ala., last week, several hundred kids were treated to 10 and Under Tennis demonstrations and clinics, both at the nearby Valley Intermediate School and at the Pelham Racquet Club. Professional players and teaching pros joined in the fun and offered tips on how to get started using the smaller, modified equipment. They also discussed the benefits of playing the sport at a young age and how the 10 and Tennis initiative is making that possible.
