The Championships - Wimbledon 2012: Day Eight

The USTA Pro Circuit works hand-in-hand with USTA Player Development to create a schedule that maximizes opportunities for Americans to excel including the development of play on all surfaces. A record 31 USTA Pro Circuit events were held on clay this year. In 2006, just 15 were held.

Stanford University standout Mallory Burdette has earned a main-draw wild card into the 2012 US Open. This year, the USTA awarded one women’s singles main-draw wild card into the US Open to the American who earned the most WTA Tour Ranking points at two of three USTA Pro Circuit hard-court events—$50,000 events in Yakima, Wash., and Lexington, Ky., and a $100,000 event in Vancouver.
