January 24, 2014 04:13 PM
Bob and Mike Bryan will be entering their 12th World TeamTennis season in 2014.

Mylan World TeamTennis' newest squad, the San Diego Aviators, picked up the top doubles team in the world, Bob and Mike Bryan, in a trade with the Texas Wild. The Bryans, natives of Camarillo, Calif., are headed to San Diego after a deal between the Aviators and the Wild for undisclosed financial consideration.

San Diego also announced that the Bryans’ coach, David Macpherson, will be the head coach of the Aviators.

“Growing up in California, we know that San Diego is a great tennis town and we are excited to play in front of the fans, family and friends,” said Mike Bryan.

“We have always loved playing Mylan World TeamTennis,” added Bob Bryan. “The competition is very tough and every point is huge.  It’s fast-paced and intense, and we love playing with that type of energy. We want to win for our city and our teammates so we can’t wait for the Aviators season to start.”

The eight WTT teams will begin to put together their rosters on Tuesday, Feb. 11, with the WTT Marquee Player Draft. Teams complete their lineups on Tuesday, March 11, when the WTT Roster Draft is held in Indian Wells, Calif.
