World No. 1 doubles team Bob and Mike Bryan are on track to successfully defend their Wimbledon doubles title after an impressive victory in the quarterfinals on Wednesday.

After dropping the opening set and facing a pair of set points in the second set of their match against No. 9 seeds Julian Knowle of Austria and Marcelo Melo of Brazil, the Americans weathered the storm and found the range on their volleys. After converting on their first match point, they celebrated with their signature chest bump and moved into the semifinals, 3-6, 7-6 (6), 6-4, 6-4.

The 36-year-old twins have been having yet another successful year in 2014. They went on a 24-match winning streak earlier this year that included five tournament victories, three of which were Masters Series events (Indian Wells, Miami and Monte Carlo). The win in Monte Carlo last April marked the 100th ATP doubles title for Mike, but they’ve won 98 ATP doubles titles as a team.

Jimmy Connors is the only other men’s player in the Open era to win more than 100 tournaments in a single discipline, having won 109 ATP singles titles during his career.

“It’s amazing to hit triple digits,” Mike told the ATP website. “It's a great milestone to say that you have a hundred. … It will feel a lot better when we do it as a team. We’ve always looked at our career as team titles, doing it together. That’s the huge goal for this year, to do it together.”

The brothers previously won the men’s doubles title at Wimbledon in 2006, 2011 and 2013. Bob also won the mixed doubles title with Samantha Stosur of Australia in 2008, while Mike won it with fellow American Lisa Raymond in 2012.

Bob and Mike also prevailed on Wimbledon's Centre Court during the 2012 London Olympics by picking up a gold medal in men’s doubles, while Mike and Lisa won a bronze medal in the mixed doubles event.

The Bryans will square off in the semifinals against No. 12 seeds Michael Llodra and Nicholas Mahut of France.
