KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. -- Sam Querrey notched his first win as the top-ranked American, rallying past Lukasz Kubot, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3, at the Sony Open on Saturday.
Because of his play this week at Crandon Park, Querrey is now world No. 20, jumping ahead of fellow American John Isner, who is No. 23 in the world.
After stumbling a bit to open the match -- dropping his first service game and in turn the first set -- Querrey found his stride on his powerful service game, hitting 12 aces against Kubot.
