Regional Tournaments are the various tournaments designated as Level 3 for national ranking purposes (such as the Quicksilver/Roxy, Midwest Open, Copper Bowl). The Youth Competition and Training Committee has approved new selection procedures for the Regional Tournaments as follows:
Draw Size of 32
- 6 players will be selected from the from the top 200 players on the most recent National Standing List of the next-younger age division;
- 25 players will be selected from the most recent National Standing List of the division of the event;
- 1 Player may be selected by Wild Card. Unused Wild Cards will be filled by players from the National Standing List of the division of the event. Players must be eligible for national ranking to receive a Wild Card except at the following events: Kentucky Derby, Eddie Herr, Junior Orange Bowl, and Prince Cup.
- Remaining vacancies will be filled by players from the National Standing List of the division of the event.
- In the 12 and under age division, 31 players will be selected from the most recent National Standing List.
Draw Size of 64
- 12 players will be selected from the top 200 players on the most recent National Standing List of the next-younger age division;
- 50 players will be selected from the most recent National Standing List National Standing List of the division of the event;
- 2 players may be selected by Wild Card. Unused Wild Cards will be filled by players from the National Standing List of the division of the event. Players must be eligible for national ranking to receive a Wild Card except at the following events: Kentucky Derby, Eddie Herr, Junior Orange Bowl, and Prince Cup.
- Remaining vacancies will be filled by players from the National Standing List of the division of the event.
- In the 12 and under age division, 62 players will be selected from the most recent National Standing List
Draw Size of 128
- 26 players will be selected from the top 200 players on the most recent National Standing List of the next-younger age division;
- 98 players will be selected from the most recent National Standings List National Standing List of the division of the event;
- 4 players may be selected by Wild Card. Unused Wild Cards will be filled by players from the National Standing List of the division of the event. Players must be eligible for national ranking to receive a Wild Card except at the following events: Kentucky Derby, Eddie Herr, Junior Orange Bowl, and Prince Cup.
- Remaining vacancies will be filled by players from the National Standing List of the division of the event.
- In the 12 and under age division, 124 players will be selected from the most recent National Standing List
Wild Cards. Criteria for selection of a player to receive a Wild Card is at the discretion of the Tournament Committee and may include qualifying draws as set forth below. However, if the USTA determines that Wild Cards are being sold or bartered, appropriate disciplinary action will be taken by the Youth Competition and Training Committee. This may include immediate removal of the tournament sanction.
Qualifiers. Qualifying draws may be held to allocate one or more of the Wild Cards. These qualifying tournaments do not earn national ranking points, however they may count towards sectional ranking if the host-section so chooses.
