Mission Statement
To support, monitor and promote programs that enhance the lives of underserved children through the integration of tennis and education.
Guiding Principles:
USTA Serves recognizes basic values embedded in tennis and education including fun, discipline, hard work, improvement and success;
USTA Serves promotes fitness, health, citizenship, leadership and self-esteem;
USTA Serves supports efforts in tennis and education that help disadvantaged youth and those with disabilities;
USTA Serves is inclusive of youngsters from all cultural and ethnic backgrounds;
USTA Serves encourages children to pursue their goals and highest dreams by succeeding in school and becoming responsible citizens.
Goals:
To reach as many disadvantaged youngsters as possible, through tennis and education.
To broaden scholarship programs for those who seek to enhance their lives through tennis and education.
To provide at-risk youth with positive role models, academic assistance and life skills that will help prevent substance abuse, violence and school dropouts through structured, neighborhood community tennis.
To encourage success and self-esteem in people with disabilities.
To increase funding and expansion of community programs to support the inclusion of tennis as a motivator in school achievement.
To be a resource to other organizations seeking support and guidance in developing programs that include tennis supporting the guiding principles.
