After an incredible weekend of high caliber tennis, 5.0 teams from the USTA Southern and USTA Southwest sections captured their respective titles at the USTA League National Championships at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.
The drive from San Francisco to Indian Wells and the 2009 USTA League Tennis National Championships may not have been a long one for the women’s 5.0 team from Northern California, but the it’s a journey that took several years to finish.
A year ago, Nick Hupton’s Men’s 5.0 team from Northern qualified for the 2008 USTA League Tennis National Championships. However, life stepped in the way, preventing the team from making the trip they had earned.
