Taylor Fritz and Michael Mmoh, two Americans ranked in the Top 10 of the ITF World Junior Rankings, will lead a strong U.S. contingent at the Australian Open Junior Championships, which will take place Jan. 24-31 in Melbourne.

World No. 5 Fritz (pictured above), a 17-year-old from Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., and No. 7 Mmoh, a 16-year-old from Temple Hills, Md., will join other top U.S. juniors William Blumberg, 16, from Greenwich, Conn., and Sameer Kumar, 17, from Carmel, Ind., in the boys’ draw.

They will attempt to follow Andy Roddick (2000) and Donald Young (2005) as Australian Open boys’ singles champions. 2014 Orange Bowl champion and current world No. 2 junior Stefan Kozlov was a finalist at the tournament last year.

On the girls' side, 16-year-old Raveena Kingsley of Parkton, Md., ranked No. 27 in the world, leads an American girls’ field that includes Jessica Ho, 18, from Wexford, Pa.; Mia Horvit, 17, from Parkland, Fla.; Raquel Pedraza, 16, from Claremont, Calif.; and 2014 Australian Open quarterfinalist Olivia Hauger, 17, from Tulsa, Okla.

Madison Bourguignon, 17, from Boynton Beach, Fla.; Ally Miller-Krasilnikov, 17, from Delray Beach, Fla.; and Stephanie Hazell, 17, from Irvine, Calif., participated in qualifying.

Taylor Townsend (2012) and Kim Kessaris (1989) are the only Americans to win the Australian Open girls’ singles title, while Madison Brengle (2007) and Lindsay Davenport (1992) were finalists.

USTA national coaches Jamea Jackson and Brad Stine will provide support to all American junior players who are competing in Melbourne.
