After turning pro this summer following her sophomore year at Georgia Tech, when she was named the 2010 Campbell/ITA National College Player of the Year, Irina Falconi had a successful start to her pro career, reaching the semifinals at two $75,000 events in Vancouver and Phoenix and winning the singles title at $10,000 Atlanta. She also reached three doubles finals in 2010 -- $75,000 Vancouver, $50,000 Las Vegas and $50,000 Kansas City, Mo. -- and finished the year ranked a career-high No. 187.
