Irina Falconi reached a career-high ranking of No. 73 in 2011 after posting results that included reaching the singles and doubles finals at $100,000 Midland, Mich., and the semifinals at $100,000 Vancouver. Falconi went on to win the gold medal in singles and the silver medal in doubles (with Christina McHale) at the Pan American Games and also competed in all four Grand Slam tournaments during the year, with her best performance coming at the US Open, where she reached the third round in singles and the mixed doubles quarterfinals (with Steve Johnson).
