Playing a more limited schedule in 2012, former world No. 4 James Blake split his time between the USTA Pro Circuit and ATP Tour and ended the year ranked No. 129 in the world. Among his USTA Pro Circuit results, the 32-year-old fan favorite, who got married and had his first child this year, won the singles title at the $100,000 Challenger in Sacramento, Calif., and reached quarterfinals in Sarasota, Fla., and Tiburon, Calif. On the ATP Tour, he won the doubles title (with Sam Querrey) at Houston, reached the singles quarterfinals at Washington, D.C., and advanced to the third round of the US Open.
