Welcome to USTA New England, one of 17 sections of the United States Tennis Association (USTA), the governing body of American tennis, home to more than 31,000 individual members and 590 organizational members spanning the six-state region. A non-profit organization, USTA New England uses its funds to promote and develop the growth of tennis at all levels, offering grants and resources to foster the implementation of programming for players from beginner to veteran; from recreational to competitive and from all ages and backgrounds.
Hilton Head Island, SC - - Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) announced that Pat Decker has been named to the newly created position of Chief Operating Officer.
Decker joins PTR with a wealth of experience. Since 1995, she has owned and managed Middlebury Racquet Club in Connecticut where she has held several PTR events including the upcoming Professional Development Day on Oct. 12.
You may say tennis isn’t exactly a sport for tough guys.
You may also espouse the same theory in front of Marty Kresac and he just may pull your shirt over your head and show how tough a tennis player he can be.
Actually, Kresac happens to be one of the most affable and outgoing 4.0 players in Tucson at the 2008 USTA League presented by Chrysler National Championships.
NEWPORT, RI -- International Tennis Hall of Fame Chairman Christopher E. Clouser, in his first act after being appointed Chairman of the International Tennis Hall of Fame on September 5, has announced that Mark L. Stenning is the 2008 recipient of the prestigious Chairman’s Award. The Chairman’s Award recognizes outstanding service by a Hall of Fame Board Member.
Brown University won the 2008 Battle of the Sections in Queens.
QUEENS, N.Y. – The Brown University Tennis on Campus team captured the championship last weekend at the second annual “Battle of the Sections,” a team tournament sanctioned by the USTA and its Tennis on Campus program.
The championship match was decided in Louis Armstrong Stadium at the U.S. Tennis Center, the same venue that houses the US Open weeks earlier.

Sarah Delfausse Olsen, a USTANew England member and USPTA-certified teaching pro, has authored a children's book about her favorite subject - tennis.
Olsen, a New Hampshire native and mother, has completed a book entitled "Tennis for Me," which is an instructional tennis book designed to captivate the interest and imagination of children.

The School Tennis Summit was held at Babson College.
Babson Park, Mass. – In the near future, tennis will be the game of choice in gym classes across New England.
Judging by the turnout and enthusiasm on display at the Second Annual School Tennis Summit, that will happen much sooner than later.
More than 70 teachers, curriculum directors and after-school programming coordinators gathered at Babson College for a day-long introduction to on the basics of teaching the game of tennis to youngsters.
