Five teams from USTA Northern California captured titles at this Fall’s USTA League presented by Chrysler National Championships held this fall in Las Vegas, Tucson, Indian Wells and Gold River. In all, fourteen teams from our section placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th at a national championship. Congratulations to the fourteen teams. You did NorCal proud!

Pamela J. Sloan, of Stockton, Calif., and the USTA Northern California Section, is nominated for her first term as Director at Large of the National USTA Board of Directors. She is currently the Director of Parks and Recreation for Stockton, where she plans, develops, operates and maintains all of the City’s parks, landscape districts and recreation facilities.

At the Annual Meeting held Saturday, November 8, the following eight individuals were elected to the 2009-10 Board of Directors of USTA Northern California: Ron Ward, Michael Cooke, Mark Mosley, Terry Cossette, Brian Berry, Jack Drimmer, Deline Davis and Jean Hassoun.

The 2008 USTA Campus Championship of Northern California, the culmination of the USTA Tennis on Campus season, took place at Stanford University, November 7-8. The USTA Tennis On Campus recreational program features co-ed teams that participate in intramural and intercollegiate (club) play on college campuses. In a thrilling final, UC Berkeley Gold edged UC Davis Gold, 24-21. Read more for complete results, stories and photos. |
