- Outstanding sportsmanship, eg voted by peers multiple times as recipient of sportsmanship awards
- Runs free clinics to introduce players to tennis
- Runs pro-ams to raise money to grow the game
- Has overcome some obstacle to be able to play tennis…physical (knee, hip replacements come to mind, shoulder surgery), cultural (grew up in segregated area, in a foreign country, etc) , personal (death of a family member, illness)
- Donates money/time/tennis goods to programs which grow the game
- Runs tournaments
- Instrumental in getting public courts built/resurfaced
- Coaches high school tennis or middle school tennis
