Jeff Williams, Director at Large

Jeff Williams began serving a first two-year term on the USTA Board of Directors in January 2013. He is the chair of the Strategic and Creative Planning Committee and serves as the board liaison to the Opportunity Council.
Prior to his appointment to the board, Williams was the president, 2011-12, and vice president, 2009-10, of the USTA Eastern Section, serving as a member of the USTA Eastern board of directors from 2009 to 2012. He also served on the USTA Nominating Committee, 2007-10, and on the USTA Publications Committee, 2003-06.
In addition, Williams is a member of the Tennis Industry Association board of directors, a position he has held since 1990, and of the TIA’s executive committee, an appointment he has held since 2006. He currently serves as the chairman of the Tennis Industry Hall of Fame committee. In addition, Williams is on the board of directors for the Arthur Ashe Institute for Urban Health.
Williams graduated with a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Florida in 1982, the same year he was inducted into the university’s Hall of Fame for student achievement. In 1985, he took over as the owner, publisher and editor of Racquet Sports Industry magazine, titles he still holds today. He became the publisher of the Tennis Media Company in 2001 and was promoted to group publisher in 2003. Tennis Media Company properties include Tennis magazine, Tennis.com and Tennis 15/30, a digital communications platform created in 2012.
For his work, Williams received the Industry Merit Award from the American Sports Builders Association in 1999.
Williams lives in New York City with his partner, Patrick Sears. He is a member of the USTA Eastern Section.
