Kent Kinnear, National Coach, Men's Tennis

Kinnear, 42, joined the USTA in 2007 after serving two years as an assistant coach for the University of Illinois men’s tennis team, where he helped lead the Illini to the finals of the 2007 NCAA Team Championships. He also coached the U.S. Pan American Men’s tennis team in 2007, and was a USTA Summer Collegiate coach in 2006.

Kinnear spent 11 years playing on the ATP tour where he achieved career high rankings of No. 163 in singles and No. 24 in doubles. He won four doubles titles and reached 15 additional finals, including back-to-back finals appearances at Indian Wells and Miami in 1992. He also competed in 38 Grand Slam tournaments. Kinnear played collegiately at the University of Clemson, where he as an All-American in 1988.

He was promoted from National Coach, Men's Tennis to Director, Player Identification and Development on November 28, 2011.
