Ola Malmqvist- Head of Women's Tennis

Malmqvist was named the Head of Women’s Tennis in 2008 after serving five years as a USTA National Coach and serving five previous years as a USA Tennis High Performance coach working with the Touring Pro Program. During his coaching career, Malmqvist has worked with Mikael Pernfors, Chanda Rubin, Luke and Murphy Jensen, Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Petr Korda, among others.

From 1993-1998, Malmqvist served as head coach of UNLV’s women’s tennis team, where he led the team to the NCAA Championships on two occasions. As a collegian himself, Malmqvist was a three-time All-American at the University of Georgia, where he won the NCAA doubles title in 1983. He also captured the ITA Indoor National Doubles Championship.

While with the USTA, Malmqvist has had more than 10 different players that he coached move into the top 100. He has helped Fed Cup Captain, Mary Joe Fernandez coach the Fed Cup Team since 2009.
