With just six weeks until the world’s gaze shifts to the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, the USTA has selected a two-time gold medalist and two of the America’s greatest tennis ambassadors to lead Team USA into battle on the tennis courts of Brazil this summer.

Bryan brothers named 2012-13 USOC Team of the Year


Bob and Mike Bryan completed the career Golden Slam at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, winning a gold medal in men's doubles to complement the Grand Slam titles won at the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and US Open. For their efforts, they were named the 2012-13 USOC Team of the Year.

Serena dominates Sharapova to win Olympic gold


Serena Williams became only the second woman to complete a career Golden Slam when she won her first Olympic singles gold medal by beating Maria Sharapova, 6-0, 6-1, in the Olympic final. The victory completed a remarkable run of domination by the No. 4-seeded Williams, who lost only 17 games in her six matches.

Serena and Venus team for third gold medal in women's doubles


Serena and Venus Williams successfully defended their Olympic gold medal, defeating Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka of the Czech Republic, 6-4, 6-4, in London. The Williams sisters also won the Olympic doubles crown in 2000.

August 2012

Fighting Bryans complete Golden Slam


The Bryan brothers, Bob and Mike, finished off the "golden slam" when they bested Ivan Dodig and Marcelo Melo, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4, 6-4, at Wimbledon. They are the first men's doubles team in the Open era to hold all four Grand Slam titles at one time, and the only team in history to do so with an Olympic gold medal.
