World TeamTennis Pro League Results for Tuesday, July 24

July 25, 2012 09:31 AM
With their 21-16 win tonight over the Philadelphia Freedoms in Washington, D.C., the Washington Kastles now have the second longest pro sports win streak in history with 27 consecutive wins.  The Kastles passed the 26-win mark held by Major League Baseball’s 1916 New York Giants. The Kastles, who won the 2011 World TeamTennis title with a 16-0 record, have not lost a WTT match since July 22, 2010.  The longest pro sports team win streak is 33 games, held by the NBA's 1971-72 Lakers.

The Kastles are the top seed for the World TeamTennis Finals Weekend presented by GEICO, set for September 14-16, in Charleston, S.C.  The remaining three teams for Finals Weekend have yet to be decided.  The regular season for the WTT Pro League presented by GEICO runs through July 28.
