15-year-old Taylor Townsend is having a breakthrough 2012 campaign thus far, having won both a girls' singles and doubles title at the Australian Open in Melbourne and enetering the International Spring Championships as the No. 1 seed. The Georgia native is blogging from Carson, Calif. this week, and USTA.com offers Taylor's thoughts as she tries to add another junior title to her mantle.

Hello my fellow bloggers and blog readers! It is another wonderful week here in Carson at the International Spring Championships! I love coming to California. The only problem is you get up in the morning freezing to death and then you're burnt by the sun in just a few hours. You just have to love wacky weather!

It has been a great start to my week, though. I had two very solid singles and doubles matches to start this tournament off. I played Kimberly Yee in my first round and Bree Addison in my second round of singles. I was sooooooo happy to be able to get over my first round jitters. I know everyone gets those! Hopefully, I can keep it going. It is so nice being able to team up with my partner, Gabby Andrews, in doubles again after a few months of being apart. We won the Australian Open together in January and are the top seeds and defending champions here.

Enough about tennis, it’s time to talk about my wonderful experience to Rodeo Drive in Hollywood earlier in the week - it was absolutely breathtaking! If you want to feel like a movie star for a few hours, you can go there and window shop or buy something if you are lucky! The prices are a little steep in that area. I don’t think my mom would be okay with me buying something from Versace or Gucci!

Anyway, we had a great time window shopping and acting like we actually had money to spend! On top of that wonderful experience, I have Madison Keys and Kendal Woodard bugging me while I’m trying to finish this fantastic blog so all of you lovely people can read it. Madison is eating an apple and poking me and Kendal is popping her gum and staring at me… hard to work in these conditions.

Well, thanks for reading. I want to keep blogging so I will try and write another or two from here about my day, and then maybe again next week at Easter Bowl. If they’ll have me.

Signing off from sunny SoCal for now.
